The Iiyama AS4821DT is Iiyama's flagship 19" LCD monitor it does have some nice features such as a USB hub but with a price tag over $1200 this LCD monitor is priced out of competition.

Iiyama has a good reputation and while the AS4821DT doesn't really disappoint in terms of performance when you compare it to other much cheaper 19" LCDs from Samsung or Sony it offers no extra value.
One claim to fame is that this monitor has two DVI connectors and comes with a cable to so that you can use a regular D-SUB vga connector. Another positive aspect is the 4 port USB hub which will reduce clutter on your desk and stop you reaching behind your desktop with a torch.
Another design feature is the adjustable base, that allows you to rotate the screen easily, left and right, up and down and round so that you can view the monitor in portrait and landscape mode.

- Brightness of 250cd/mē
- 19" 1280 by 1024 native resolution
The specifications claimed by Iiyama are quite high but are a little hard to believe in reality. The response time was good but the contrast and brightness are not the best I've seen and certainly below average for monitors in this price range.
Overall I would definitely recommend this monitor IF it was $200-$400 less than it's current price.
My conclusion on the Iiyama AS4821DT 19" LCD monitor
Some nice features included and overall not a bad design. The main problem is that this monitor is priced right up there with some very good performers.
It's possible that some price drops will make this monitor worth getting. If you need a flexible base and USB hug and don't need great black/grey differentiation then this LCD monitor may be worth a look. Make sure you compare on price and see what else you can get for your money.
